The Shakespeare Pub has a long history as a blues and zydeco venue in Houston and we feel priviliged to be the proprietors. It was founded in 1990 by two English professors so they could have a place to listen to blues and zydeco. Blues and Zydeco are still alive and kickin' at the Shakespeare Pub, along with some rockabilly on Monday nights. You'll find some of the best local musicians hangin' out and showcasing their talent on a daily basis. We strive to promote an atmosphere of peace and acceptance where our patrons can drop their baggage at the door and enjoy the here and now.  We are former Marines, though, so no *%$#ing around !!
